I ran an easy run in Alpine while Meagan ran on the trails.

I ran the hills of Alpine.  It was fun and beautiful.

I ran a solo 12 miles in the Morning around Logan, and then I ran 8 miles with Taylor in the evening up and down Logan canyon.  Meagan and Jen (Our wives) also ran up the canyon.  The weather was perfect.

I went running kind of late.  Taylor and I slammed an easy 7 up Logan canyon.  Each time we go running he looks smoother and runs faster.  It is amazing people can get into race shape so fast if they are already very fit.

I woke up early to get a solid run in.  Much to my suprise I was running through snow and hail.  At first I was quite irratated, but then I started to enjoy it, after all it isn't every June 11th that you can run in the snow in Logan.

PS I am heading to Lake Powell for a few days, I will enter my running data when I come back.

Well I went from snow yesterday in Logan to 90 degree weather in Lake Powell.  It was hot.  But the miles felt good.  I am getting a bad cold from my sister.  I am severely congested.  But It should go away in about a week.

I actually just went on a long hike in Lake Powell today.  With all the rattlesnakes, and my cold I thought it would be best to not push a run today.

I ran a relaxed 12 miles through Logan.  My cold is getting better, but I am still congested.  I am excited for WBR.  That should be a blast.

I went on a nice shake out run this morning through the streets of Logan. No snow today, so that was good. I will get in a solid run later this afternoon/evening.

I ran an even 14 miles in the evening.  It was nice to run several with Meagan.

I enjoyed a nice hilly 9 mile loop up left hand fork in Logan canyon. It was hot, but was very enjoyable due to the views in the mountains.

I took today off.  My cold has been too persistent, so I decided to give in for a day.  I feel better now than yesterday, but I want to feel close to 100 % for the relay.

I went on an easy 15 miles through Logan.  I feel like my cold is mostly gone.  I hope that the race goes well this weekend.  It should be a blast.

PS I don't really care about how many miles I run.  I focus more on the minutes and the effort.  This way I don't push the pace trying to get done with a run, rather I just enjoy the run and learn more about my body.  I hope that makes sense.

Well it is finally here, WBR.  I have looked forward to this race for a while.  My first leg was #10, 3.5 miles flat, with a slight uphill finish.  I started a little fast with the adrenaline, 4:52 mile, then  two 4:59 miles back to back, with a relaxed finish. (saving some for ragnar), 17:14.  Remember the race has just begun.

Easy warmup and cool down.

At about 3 am I ran leg 22, 6.4 miles with a slight uphill finish.  I just locked into pace and hammered away for 35 minutes until the finish.  I felt strong, but with BYU over 20 minutes ahead there was no reason to kill myself yet.  I had to be patient for Ragnar.  I knew I could make up some serious time there.

I should preface this entry with a big thanks to my team, St George Running Center, and Fastrunningblog.com, but especially the guys in my van, Dave, Adam, Taylor, Clyde, Logan, and my brother in law Jake.  They really were the key to the success we had in our van.  Anyway, I ran Ragnar at about 10am.  The weather was warm, but not nearly as hot as last year.  I ran super hard the first mile, 8:02, but I couldn't breath.  I was super congested.  I thought the record was out of reach, but I still pushed to try to win the overall award.  Mile 2 was faster, 7:30 range.  By now I was feeling better, but I still didn't think the record was in my grasp.  I hammered the last 2 miles well under 7 min mile pace and ended up 29:12 on my watch,(old record 29:13), so we will see how the official results come out.

PS My legs felt strong and healthy, no big knots, Sunday and Monday.  This is the best I have felt after WBR.

Today I was just trying to help my legs recover.  I ice bathed after the run.  My calves are pretty torn up from Ragnar. (The price of Glory I guess.)

I ran up Logan Canyon,  It was beautiful as usual, but not many people were up there.  My calves were very sore for the first couple miles, then they felt much better.  Todays run felt like an 18 mile run on the legs.  They still need to recover.  I ice bathed in 1st dam after the run.  Thank goodness for that cool water.

I ran another 7 miles tonight.  my calves were sore, but they are getting much better.  I don't think I am going to do the 28 mile Logan Peak Race this weekend.  Good Luck Jon.

Meagan was sick today, and I pucked a couple times.  It was a miserable day. Still got in a solid run. (With a couple bathroom breaks).  I hope we get feeling better soon.

I was the most sick I have been in years today.  I just felt aweful all day.  I just slept and watched movies and tried to eat and drink good stuff.  Tomarrow will be better.

I went on a 14 miler with Trever Ball up Logan Canyon. It was nice. We just talked like old times.  We also ran into Paul and Cody on the trail.  That was great to see Paul running again.

I did a bit of a push in the middle of this run.  I felt like I needed some tempo speed miles.

PS The Collin Ray concert was great.
