Short-Term Running Goals:

In the next couple years I would like to focus on the Marathon. My goal is to hit the Olympic "A" Standard in the next 2 years. I would also like to place at a USA marathon championship in the top 10. I have a long way to go, but I have a long time to get there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running in the Olympics would have to be my long time running goal. That would be awesome.

Personal:

I married Meagan in March 2005. We don't have any kids yet. Both Meagan and I ran at the University of Utah, and then we transferred to Utah State in Fall 2005 because the U of U dropped their Men's Track and Field program.

I showed up to this race with the hope that I could just run easy and enjoy the pace.  But then I saw Dave Danly, OTR in the Marathon.  We talked for a second and I told him that I had already signed up for the 10k.  Then we decided that no one except for us was really there to race around 30 minutes on the 10k.  So He ran the 5k in 16:30 and easily won and I was able to just enjoy a nice run with a bunch of fun runners.  This was a very well organized race, and was a ton of fun.

I ran a half marathon at a fairly relaxed pace.  It is still weird to push my hips forward while running.  But it is getting better.

Then I did an easy 10 miles this afternoon.  It was a blast.  I am looking forward to racing some more.  I love all the road races.

I only ran 10 miles today.  I was way busy with school and then Meagan and I went up to Logan to go to the temple with the Taylor and Jen Price family.  They are awesome.  It was a really fun night.

I did nine miles this morning. It was hard to get up and run, but it was well worth it. My Legs are feeling stronger and stronger.

I jogged a couple miles with Meagan at Liberty park before going to the State Fair and Rodeo.

I went on my long run today, so that I can race tomarrow.  It has been a good week.  I am feeling more confident for the Twin Cities Marathon.

This was a crazy fast race.  I have never raced down such a steep grade.  Teren and I started out easy with a 4:43 mile.  This was very comfortable (considering the steep grade).  Then we went to work; 4:28, 4:26, 4:23, then Teren moved away as I slowed the last mile to a 4:34.  It was a great run, but my legs were hammered.
