Short-Term Running Goals:

In the next couple years I would like to focus on the Marathon. My goal is to hit the Olympic "A" Standard in the next 2 years. I would also like to place at a USA marathon championship in the top 10. I have a long way to go, but I have a long time to get there.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Running in the Olympics would have to be my long time running goal. That would be awesome.

Personal:

I married Meagan in March 2005. We don't have any kids yet. Both Meagan and I ran at the University of Utah, and then we transferred to Utah State in Fall 2005 because the U of U dropped their Men's Track and Field program.

It is nice to be running in Utah again.  The trip to Poland was great.  We really had a great time. It is great to watch the olympics.  I am excited to see how Ryan Hall does in the Marathon.  I am starting to train hard toward the Twin Cities Marathon.  That should be a great experience.

Today was super busy.  We woke up early to finish packing up the moving trailer.  Then we drove to SLC by 8:30 am.  We moved in everything in our apartment.  My arms are very tired and we went up and down all the stairs because we live on the second floor.

I went on a solo run in SLC.  That was a blast.  I am excited for this weekend.  It should be fun up in Logan at the TOU.

I went running with Meagan at Dimpledale this morning.  That was nice to get on a soft trail.  It was pretty sandy though, because not too many wood chips were on the trail.

I just did a shake out.  It will be fun to run tomarrow in Logan.  I love that city.  I am feeling better and better, and I am getting super excited for the Twin Cities marathon.  I am using the TOU half as a tempo run workout.  We will see how it goes.  It should be a ton of fun.

This race was a blast. I had a great time with all the wonderful runners from the Fast Running Blog. The race went out pretty relaxed for a couple miles. Teren and I were running together out in front chatting about the Olympics, Lagat, Hall, and Bekele. Then we picked up the pace to 5:05 or so for a couple miles. At this point I let Teren know that I was running the half as a tempo run. So he kicked it down to 4:50 pace or so and left me alone. I ran to mile ten at a pretty even effort. Then I backed off, ten miles was long enough for a tempo run. The last couple miles I was running 5:40 pace, and the third place runner was closing on me slowly. I just kept going fast enough to hold him off and get 2nd overall. It was a fun race.

PS thanks Sasha for bringing me the extra teeshirt to run in. Go St. George running Center and fastrunningblog team.

PS Meagan broke her alltime record for the half marathon, 1:53. I am very proud of her.
